Sealants

Sealants are placed on the back teeth to protect them from getting a cavity. A material is placed on the tooth like a film, that seals the top surface and prevents dental plaque and food from developing a cavity. The procedure is totally painless and no drilling is required, while it lasts almost forever.

After the placement of the sealants, the patient may complain that the bite is off. This is normal, as the tooth where the sealant is placed is not drilled and the material is extra on the tooth surface. The material used is special, and is getting adjusted with time. However, if this feeling persists after 2 days, it is good to contact our dental office, to adjust the occlusion.
