Orthodontic mini-implants are small screws (8-12mm long and 1.5-2.5mm in diameter). They are easily placed after local anesthesia, without difficult surgical requirements and with extremely rare postoperative complications, by the orthodontist in pre-designed positions of the jaws and serve as anchorage. by bone support, we achieve perfectly controlled movements of the teeth in the desired direction. Thus, other teeth are not used as supports, to avoid unwanted movements of these teeth, due to the law of action-reaction. In addition, micro-implants are used to hook intermaxillary orthodontic elastics to correct and control severe skeletal discrepancies. They are easily removed; the healing is excellent. Orthodontic skeletal-supported devices are intraoral mechanisms based on two small palatal implants (9-11mm long and 2-2.3mm in diameter) in the middle palatal suture or adjacent to it at the level of the first premolars of the upper jaw. These devices have multiple uses, such as for the backward movement of the upper dental units, the expansion of the upper jaw, the orthopedic protraction of the upper jaw and the control of the excessive growth of the lower jaw, etc. Their biggest advantage is the seamless correction of the orthodontic problem, avoiding the use of extra-oral devices and without the need of full cooperation of the patient. Inserted and removed safely and in a controlled manner, healing is excellent. (Benefit® System / Düsseldorf, Germany)

Zygoma plates and genio plates are modified titanium surgical plates used for skeletal support and correction of severe skeletal problems. The zygoma plates are surgically placed in the area of the zygomatic buttress and their intraoral tip emerges at the height of the first upper permanent molar. The genio plates are surgically placed in the area of the chin and their intraoral tip emerges at the height of the lower permanent canine. They have orthopedic and dentoalveolar action, helping at skeletal problems of mandibular prognathism, maxillary retrognathism and open-bite. Inserted and removed safely and in a controlled manner, healing is excellent. (The Bollard® device / Surgi-Tec, Bruges, Belgium)
